Ultra Electronics, Advanced Tactical Systems (ATS) designs, develops, and supports real-time tactical command and control systems for all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and many of our allied and coalition partners. Our systems and personnel have supported our military in every major conflict since our founding in 1987.

ATS is recruiting for an experienced Information Assurance Specialist familiar with the Risk Management Framework to join our dynamic engineering organization in Austin, TX. This position will be integrated with our engineering team to ensure that information assurance is an integral part of our processes from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting reporting processes; network and system assessments; network mapping; and managing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) processes. This candidate will be responsible for providing input from the security point of view into the design, development, modification, implementation and testing of software applications. They will support the continuing integration of the Risk Management Framework into ATS' operations.

This is a software development position in the Engineering department, not a system/network monitoring position in the IT department.

The successful candidate will rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and tasks. They will work independently under general supervision to achieve defined goals. They will perform reviews of project requirements, analyze technical data, write plans and specifications, evaluate and provide input to coding standards and CM procedures. Some travel may be required.

Required Skills:
  • Familiarity and at least 1+ years of experience working with the Risk Management Framework
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Information Assurance
  • Experience with the Linux operating systems (specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7), Windows 10 and Bash
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical field
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with the Secure Host Baseline version of Windows 10
  • CISSP Certification
  • An understanding of computer networking and architecture
  • Experience in system design, development and testing
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment such as SCRUM
  • An understanding of the C and C++ programming languages as well as common scripting languages used with Windows and Linux
