Network Engineer to support enterprise and standalone networks supporting the future Missile Defenses Space Enterprise Architecture on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract for the Missile Defense Agency on Schriever AFB, CO. Duties include assessment, design, and configuration, installation, and event operations centers. Prepare detailed architectures, drawings, budgets and recommendations, including comprehensive written specifications and justifications for implementation activities. The MDSEA network engineer will be responsible for deriving system-level requirements from architectural guidelines and mission objectives; developing detailed designs with supporting implementation, test and transition plans; and ushering proposed system changes through the Engineering Review Board and Configuration Management process to successful implementation. #cjpost Basic Requirements: Candidate must have a HS diploma with 18 years of general experience and/or an Associate's degree with 16 years general experience and/or a BS/BA degree with 14 years of general experience and/or a Masters degree with 12 years of general experience, of which 10 years must be directly related/specialized experience in network engineering. Experience should also include professional hands-on design, implementation and troubleshooting of the following technologies: Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/IDS, internal and external routing protocols, TCP and UDP, IP, multicast and Ethernet broadcast in a multi-layer operational network environment, SONET, Type I and II encryption devices, and network timing systems. Experience with hybrid (cloud and non-cloud) computing network requirements, design, implementation, and deployment to a production milestone. Must be process oriented and have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills and willingness and ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal or no supervision. This position may require occasional CONUS travel. Must have at least one of the following to meet the DoD 8570 IASAE II certification (per DoD 8570): Security , Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance. Desired: Experience with MDA/SS and/or other MDA customers. Experience with communication networks (MDACNet, DISN, SIPRNet). Experience and understanding of Software Defined-WAN technologies and concepts within the architecture development of cloud computing technologies. Highly desirable if candidate has implementation experience with products such as VMWare, AWS, Azure, or MilCloud. DoD networking experience with classified data networks and strong grasp of red/black concepts and IA compliance. Proficiency with Visio 2016. Knowledge of MDA classified networks. CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE certified. Active Secret clearance minimum, Top Secret preferred.
