Title: Information Security Cloud Security Engineer
Location: Danbury CT
Type: Direct

Summary:
This position will have a focus on, but not limited to, cloud security technologies. The Cloud Security Engineer
will also assist in all Security Platform engineering and operation - the testing, engineering, and development the Information
Security Systems and in place controls. The Engineer will be vendor agnostic and with an understanding of methodologies across the Information Security Eco-System.
The Information Security Engineer performs a wide variety of duties in support of technical or administrative assignments using
established procedures. The engineer will also be assisting in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all security technologies, development, and enforcement of security practices.
As a member of the Security Incident Response Team, the Security Engineer, in the case of an incident, will work with the SOC to monitor and analyze security alerts and logs. They will perform remediation and mitigations actions in accordance to established security practices.

Responsibilities:
• Design and implement security architecture using cloud technologies
• 1+ years experience in cloud engineering with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, ACM, etc.)
• Strong Amazon Web Services (AWS) expertise with a security mindset
• Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems
• Demonstrated implementation skill sets to maintain, troubleshoot, and deploy cloud security tools & technologies
• Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice
• High-level communication skills to successfully translate business requests to technology and security requirements
• Provide engineering support to Architecture leads in support of the AWS security strategy.
Integrate security into cloud resources through deployments templates, policy management tools, configuration management
tools, CI\CD pipelines, and other automation or orchestration solutions
•Collaborating with teams to identify opportunities and provide recommendations on how application security can be built into
project development
•Evaluate engineering and integration initiatives and provide technical support to assess security policies, standards, and
guidelines.
•Implement, enforce, and communicate security policies and/or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and
telecommunications.
• Perform product evaluations, recommend, and implement products/services for network security.
• Manage security responsibilities, including firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and other security devices.
• Maintaining security compliance operations and infrastructure

Requirements:

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in leading security, compliance, privacy, and risk management projects.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in information technology, cyber security, or related field.
  • Working knowledge with Cloud technologies; preferably AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code deployments and the security review process.
  • Expertise in a security discipline such as Data Protection, Compliance Validation, Vulnerability
  • Analysis, Network Security, Infrastructure Security, CICD Security, Identity and Access Management, Logging and Monitoring, Incident Response, Data and Analytics, and Resiliency.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Hands-on experience with Security Services in AWS such as IAM, KMS, VPC, Security Groups, AWS Inspector, and Guard Duty.
  • Hands-on experience with Management Services such as Cloudwatch, Lambda and AWS Config.
  • Hands-on experience of Infrastructure and Platform Services such as AWS Networking/VPC, EC2, RDS.
  • Knowledge and Hands on Skills with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, and Container Security.
  • Experience with IT Security Frameworks such as HITRUST, PCI DSS, NIST.
  • AWS & Security Certifications such as: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), GISP (GIAC Information Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification),
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
