IT Security Engineer with BigFix experience and CISSP

* Must be a U.S. Citizen due to federal requirements

Location: Remote

Preferred Time Zones: EST, CST

Rate Type: W2

Length:(6-month) engagement to cover an existing employee on military leave.

Qualifications:

Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) Vulnerability Assessment & Management department immediately needs a contingent worker at the Experienced Engineer level, reporting to the Senior Manager - Information Security, Security Configuration Services team.

As a contingent worker, you will assist the other Security Configuration Services Team engineers with configuring, operating, and maintaining the application and infrastructure associated with the endpoint management tool (aka BigFix).

Depending on your skill set, you may have the opportunity to be involved in the customized deployment of BigFix content based on industry-standard benchmarks, refreshing the server hardware infrastructure followed up with an upgrade of the BigFix application, rollout of multifactor authentication for BigFix, developing enhanced BigFix training for other employees outside of our team, and researching additional solutions/capabilities to enhance BigFix and service offering.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with other team members on the daily support tasks of the BigFix application/components.
  • Monitor for and respond to user issues and inquiries, provide user access, and provide user instruction/training as required.
  • Engage with team members to complete planned roadmap items such as the server refresh, MFA implementation, product upgrade, etc.
  • Perform change and incident management following Federal Reserve policies and procedures when required.
  • Identify and resolve moderately complex problems affecting BigFix or its communications.
  • Update documentation for future reference (Visio diagrams and/or procedure documents)

Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with progressive knowledge about information technology and cyber security concepts and principles.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting BigFix (experience with a similar application will be considered - i.e., Tanium, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience with administration and support of Operating Systems (mainly MS Windows), including system configuration and hardening; familiarity with security benchmarks and hardening guidelines/procedures.
  • 1+ years of experience with MS Office products, including Visio
  • Knowledge of and experience with supporting an application across multiple data centers is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communication skills tailored for the intended audience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Information Security related degree preferred; other degrees considered based on work experience and/or certifications).
  • CISSP or other industry-recognized security certifications preferred
