Our client is an industry leader in precious metals, trading and exchange. They are seeking a Jr Data Security Analyst to work directly with the CFO/CIO to create a secure and compliant IT organization. This Jr Data Security Analyst will work to protect the organization’s computer systems and networks in compliance with the policies set forth by the company and vendor partners.

Jr. Data Security Analyst Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain Data Protection Software
  • Responsible for installing and uninstalling various security programs to protect sensitive data using firewalls and data-encryption technology
  • update on a regular basis to remove bugs and add new features
  • Perform audits to ensure a secure environment
  • Complete vendor questionnaires to remain compliant
  • Assess vendor risk by assisting in vendor risk analysis
  • Performing security audits, risk assessments and analysis
  • Making recommendations for enhancing data systems security
  • Researching attempted breaches of data security and rectifying security weaknesses
  • Formulating security policies and procedures
  • Perform business continuity tasks
  • Maintain policies and procedure that pertain to risk assessment
  • Provide weekly updates based on level of importance
  • Assist in penetration testing to expose areas of weakness and potential attacks
  • Provide proactive updates on active risks and vulnerabilities
  • Create and maintain ongoing documentation
  • Participate in the creating of a security plan to reduce risk and exposure
  • Work with leadership to create future policy, procedures and standards
  • Provide triage support on related issues

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Cyber Security, Information Security or related required. Bachelor’s Degree in aforementioned degrees preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years of Cyber Security or Data Security experience (internships/work study/ coursework included)
  • Possess strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgment and self-motivation.
  • Keep abreast of industry security trends and developments, as well as applicable government regulations.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other data security or cyber security certifications
  • Nice to have: previous knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with any of the following tools: Tenable10, Nessus, ManageEngine (or other Event Log Analyzer)
